TIM JENNEY - SUPERINTENDENT OF BEACH PUBLIC SCHOOLS

Tim Jenney arrived here from South Carolina a little more than six months ago to take the helm of the city's schools, so it's only natural that he's still getting acquainted with the community.

You have to feel for him, though, when he admits that his ``sense of direction isn't very good.'' Learning how to get around the Beach requires almost a sixth sense to untangle the maze of streets and boulevards that indirectly connect us all.

When it comes to professional direction, however, it's clear he knows what he wants and where he thinks our schools ought to be. He's a no-nonsense kind of leader.
