Joseph Daniel Gammon, 83, of Route 4, died Sept. 16, 1996, at R.J. Reynolds Patrick County Memorial Hospital.
He was born in Danville, Va. on Jan. 28, 1913 to the late Rev. Fuller W. Gammon and the late Eliza Ragsdale Gammon. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ally Mae Gammmon.
Mr. Gammon is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Danny and (Pamela Ireland) Gammon of Virginia Beach; a daughter, Ms. Thelma Gammon Williams of Norfolk; three stepdaughters, Debbie McAlexander of Stuart, Patricia Ann Rooks of Brunswick, Ga., and Rebecca Hopkins of Brunswick; a stepson, Larry Hopkins of Brunswick; a brother, Paul D. Gammon Sr. of Norfolk; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a foster granddaughter; nine step-grandchildren; and four step-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Mr. Gammon will be held today at 11 a.m. in Moody Funeral Home, Stuart, with the Rev. Luther Hopkins officiating. Burial will follow in the Buffalo Ridge Church of God of Prophecy Cemetery.
