CORRINE W. PETTAWAY

Corrine White Pettaway went home to be with her Lord on Sept. 16, 1996.

Born Sept. 14, 1924, in Hassell, N.C., she was retired from Hofheimer's Shoe Store. After her retirement she was employed by SEVAMP and Norfolk Voter Registration. She was also a volunteer with the Share program. Mrs. Pettaway was a faithful member of New Calvary Baptist Church.

She is survived by her son, Edward Bernard White; her loving grandson, Marlon ``Butch'' Bowser; a sister, Queen E. White; a granddaughter-in-law, Arlethia R. Bowser; two special nieces, Marian Foxworth, Vivian Parker; and a host of other nieces, nephews and friends.

A funeral will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in New Calvary Baptist Church. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park, Chesapeake. A wake will be held from 7 to 8 p.m. today. The family will assemble at 1367 Tanners Creek Drive, Norfolk at 9:30 a.m. Thursday for the procession. ILLUSTRATION: Photo
