WIND AND RAIN KEEP ANGLERS, FISH AWAY

Adverse weather conditions kept fishing at a minimum along the Dare Coast Tuesday.

A few spot were taken by anglers on Kitty Hawk Pier during the morning but little action was reported during the afternoon.

On Avalon Pier some bar Jacks, small gray trout, speckle trout and a few Spanish mackerel were landed sporadically throughout the day.

Nags Head pier reported slow fishing with a few spot, croakers, sea mullet and gray trout landed.

A few spot were landed from Jennettes Pier during the morning. Afternoon action was nil.

Fishermen on Outer Banks Pier caught a few small croakers and a gray trout during the day.

South of Oregon Inlet, Rodanthe Pier reported a handful of small bottom fish taken from muddy water.

On Avon Pier few folks fished due to the stormy weather. Frisco Pier also reported little angling efforts due to the high winds and rain.

Wind and rain kept surf fishermen indoors from Corolla to Hatteras Inlet.

Boating activity around Oregon Inlet and Hatteras Inlet was nonexistent due to winds up to 50 miles per hour in squalls.

Spot fishing on ocean piers along the Dare beaches should be excellent as soon as weather conditions improve.

The water temperature was 75 degrees at the Army Corps of Engineers Pier in Duck, and also at the Frisco Pier on Hatteras Island. by CNB
