Our son attends Catholic school and, yes, it is a school that is successful and affordable.
Molly Ivins is opposed to the school voucher system (Perspectives, Sept. 12), claiming ``it is spending public money to send kids to private schools.'' Well, we currently pay our own son's tuition and pay taxes toward a public school system we do not use.
With a voucher system, more families would be able to send their children to the school of their choice and those who cannot will find their public school students should also benefit since the public schools will be forced to raise standards and compete to win students back.
