VERA V. GOODWIN

Mrs. Vera Victoria ``Miss Vic'' Goodwin, of 5808 Godwin Blvd., died Sept. 17, 1996, at the residence of her son, 6665 Everetts Road.

She was a native of Nansemond County and daughter of the late Jessie and Mrs. Everline Mann Pittman. She was retired from Gold Kist Peanut Co. after 46 years. A member of Diamond Grove Baptist Church, she was secretary of the senior choir, treasurer of the Missionary Circle and member of the Noon Day Prayer Band.

Surviving are her husband, George D. Goodwin; a daughter, Mrs. Rita Howard of Syracuse, N.Y.; two sons, the Rev. Ronald Goodwin and Mr. Richard Goodwin of Suffolk; two daughters-in-law, Ms. Pandora Johnson of Salem, Va., Mrs. Monica Goodwin of Suffolk; stepmother, Mrs. Lillie Pittman of Suffolk; four sisters, Mrs. Daisy Davis of Hampton, Mrs. Lil R. Alston of Dorchester, Mass., Mrs. Medecia Wright of Suffolk; Mrs. Mary Liggins of Newport News; four brothers, Earl Pittman, Calvin Pittman, Herbert Pittman of Brooklyn, N.Y., David Pittman of Suffolk; five grandchildren; a great-grandchild; and a host of other relatives.

A funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday in Diamond Grove Baptist Church by the Rev. Calvin A. Lillard. Burial will be in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens. The body will be taken from Peebles Funeral Home to the church at 11 a.m.
