Laura Etta Clayter, 64, of the 600 block of New York Ave., died Sept. 15, 1996, in a local hospital.
A native of Scotland Neck, N.C., she was a member of the First Calvary Baptist Church, Norfolk, and Usher Board No. 2.
Survivors include her husband, Frank Clayter; a daughter, Vicky Clayter of Hampton; a son, Perry Tootle of San Diego, Calif.; eight step-children; nine step-grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Barbara Tootle of Norfolk; and a host of other family and friends.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at the First Calvary Baptist Church, Norfolk, by Dr. Johnnie L. White. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Garden. There will be a wake from 7 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Hale Funeral Home Chapel. Family and friends will assemble at 627 York Ave. at 10 a.m. Saturday for a procession to the church.
