DAVID G. MILLER JR.

David G. Miller Jr., 40, of the 1200 block of Faulkner Road, died early Sunday morning Sept. 15, 1996, at his home following an extended illness.

Born Feb. 7, 1956, in Altoona, Pa., he was a former resident of Bellwood, Pa., and was a 1974 graduate of Bellwood-Antis High School. He married Sharon A. Snyder on Feb. 10, 1978 in Tipton, Pa. He retired as a senior chief petty officer from the U.S. Navy as a missile technician at the Submarine Fleet Combat Training Center, Dam Neck, Virginia Beach. He was a veteran of the Persian Gulf War and received two Meritorious Unit Commendation Awards, three Navy Achievement Medals, the National Defense Service Medal and the Navy Commendation Medal. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Along with his wife survivors include his daughter, Tracy A. Miller of Virginia Beach; a brother, Daniel Miller of Tipton; two sisters, Susan Miller of Quaker Hill, Conn., and Kris Wolfe of State College, Pa.; parents, David Gary Miller Sr. and Helen C. Moore Miller of Bellwood; and grandmother, Edith Miller of Tyrone, Pa.

A service was held Wednesday in Bellwood with interment in Logan Valley Cemetery, Bellwood. Memorial donations may be made to Sentara Hospice Program, 8 Koger Executive Center, Norfolk, 23502. Jon C. Russin Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
