LESS HUSTLE AND BUSTLE

We have traveled the tunnel and highway numerous times to see our family. Once we are on the Eastern Shore, I always breathe a sigh of relief to be out of the hustle and bustle of Hampton Roads and into a more relaxed atmosphere. I comment to the children about the farmland, the irrigation process, the crop-dusting planes and the livestock we see while traveling.

On one trip I had five grandchildren with me when I had a flat tire. We had to walk a good distance down the median of the highway to a service station. To our pleasure and surprise, two young locals turned around on the highway to assist us. We all piled in the pickup truck and returned to my car, where the men changed the tire.

I have lived in the Hampton Roads area all of my life and feel I have the best of both worlds by having the opportunity to visit across the Bay.
