Mrs. Cleo P. Briggs, 86, of 1200 block of Park Ave., died Sept. 20, 1996, in Norfolk.
Mrs. Briggs was the widow of Caleb Briggs. She was a retired sailmaker for the Norfolk Naval Shipyard. Also she was a member of South Norfolk Church of Christ, Chesapeake.
Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Doris M. and Thomas L. Hampton of Chesapeake, Betty W. and John S. King of Chesapeake; a son and daughter-in-law, Roy L. and Jeannette Williams of Chesapeake; a sister, Isma E. Morgan of Chesapeake; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday in South Norfolk Church of Christ, Chesapeake, by the Rev. John Keane, Dr. Willis Dowling and the Rev. Amos Eby. Burial will be in Riverside Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 4 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Graham Funeral Home, South Norfolk Chapel, and at all other times at 1124 Byrd Ave., Chesapeake.
