WALTER ROYAL JR.

Walter Royal Jr., 76, of the 2000 block of Elon Drive, died Sept. 19, 1996, in his home.

Mr. Royal was a native of High Point, N.C. He was an automotive dealer and the owner of Thompson Royal Dodge in Virginia Beach. Mr. Royal was a member of the Princess Anne Rotary Club for 30 years, chairman of the committee of the Virginia Beach Neptune Festival and the Tidewater Automobile Association for many years. Mr. Royal was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in Italy during World War II. Mr. Royal was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Juanita Royal.

Survivors include his children, Judith, Larry, and Scott; his grandchildren, Carter, David, Jason, Brandon and Meghan; his great-grandchildren, Colin and Annie; his daughters and grandaughters by marriage, Linda, Chris, Mimi and Kristy; and his many business associates and friends over the years.

A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday at Princess Anne Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel by Dr. Paul B. Wattlington Jr. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. today at the H.D. Oliver Funeral Home, Laskin Road Chapel.
