Sgt. 1st Class Lloyd T. Vick Jr., 34, of the 1300 block of East Washington St., died Sept. 21, 1996, in a local hospital.
A Suffolk native, Sgt. Vick was a member of the U.S. Army and the New Mount Vernon Baptist Church, Portsmouth.
Survivors include his father and mother, Lloyd T. Vick Sr. and Catherine Pugh Vick; sisters, Cynthia Richardson and Angelia Goodman; brother, Richard Collins, Gregory Collins and Curtis Vick; a devoted sister-in-law, Vivian Collins; a devoted brother-in-law, James ``Tim'' Richardson; nieces, Shonita Collins, Marvett Goodman and Ashleigh Collins; nephews, Taurus Richardson Sr., James ``TJ'' Richardson Jr., Eric Collins, Travis Collins, Christian Lloyd Vick; a great-niece, three great-nephews; six aunts, Virginia Reid, Mary Drew, Pauline Gwaltney, Betty Vick, Mary Vick and Christin Artis; five great-aunts, Lenora Joe, Mamie Wright, Mary Wright, Arlethia Butts, Thelma Mackey; uncles, William Vick, Mark Vick Jr. and Clifton Gwaltney Jr.; an adopted aunt and uncle, Geraldine and Clifford Diggs; and a host of cousins and other relatives and friends.
A funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday in New Mount Vernon Baptist Church, Victory Boulevard, Portsmouth, by Dr. Vernon Lee. Entombment will be in Meadowbrook Mausoleum. Full military rites will be accorded in the cemetery. Crocker Funeral Home is in charge.
