Abiatha D. Willis, 81, died Sept. 21, 1996, in a Norfolk hospital.
She was an accounting secretary for Naval Supply Center, Norfolk, and retired after 20 years of service. Born in Norfolk, she was the widow of Bernard Willis and a member of Norview Presbyterian Church, Norfolk.
Survivors include her daughters, Claudia L. Barnes of Virginia Beach, Geraldine V. Forbes of Currituck, N.C.; a son, Robert D. Vaughan of Virginia Beach; sister, Lillian S. Nicolay of Virginia Beach; three granddaughters, Cristi Sanchez, Robin Wilkinson and Erin Wilkinson; four grandsons, Charles E. Barnes III, Robert W. Vaughan, Daniel L. Vaughan and Darrin S. Vaughan; and 10 great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Norfolk, by Dr. Paul C. Lawson. Smith and Williams Funeral Home, Kempsville Chapel, is in charge. The family will be at 5240 Locke Lane, Virginia Beach. The family requests that in lieu of flowers memorial donations be made to the Salvation Army.
