MAMIE F. STURDEVANT

Mamie Foit Sturdevant, 69, formerly of Days Point Road in Smithfield, died Sept. 23, 1996.

She was a native of Mingo County, W. Va., and was the widow of Glenn Wilson Sturdevant. She was retired from People's Drug Store and was a member of Portsmouth First Pentecostal Holiness Church.

Survivors include two daughters, Theresa Angus and Margaret Bass, both of Chesapeake; a son, James M. Sturdevant of Sparta, N.J.; a sister, Glenna Whitten of Chambersburg, Pa.; eight grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday in Portsmouth First Pentecostal Holiness Church by the Rev. Nelson F. Fields. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will be at Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, today from 6 to 8 p.m. and other times at 4657 Leeward Drive, Chesapeake.
