The Army's roll on/roll off cargo ship Shughart, top, was put

through its paces Tuesday as part of an exercise on a temporary pier

built by Navy Seabees at the Little Creek Amphibious Base. Above,

crew members lift a vessel out of the water as part of that

operation with the Army 7th Transportation Group. During its

mission, the Shughart would carry pre-arranged equipment and be

positioned within four days of any port that might need that cargo,

possibly including the Chinook Army helicopter that fits with room

to spare in the Shughart's hold, left. by CNB
