MARGARET I. CROSS

Margaret I. ``Wyccie'' Cross, 88, of the 900 block of Hamilton Ave., died Sept. 25, 1996, in William T. Hall Nursing Home.

A native of Portsmouth and with family ties in Tarboro, N.C., she was the widow of Joseph Cross. Mrs. Cross was a retired housekeeper and companion. She was a member of Centennial Baptist Church and involved in social and fraternal organizations.

Survivors include a daughter, Margie Garner; daughter-in-law, Mildred Gilliam; a son, Russell L. Gilliam; a sister, Cora Motley; a brother, Samuel Gilliam; a granddaughter, DeBorah Gilliam; and a grandson, Phillip Gilliam-Cuffee; several nieces and nephews.

A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday in Centennial Baptist Church by the Rev. Robert L. Addison. Burial will be in Lincoln Cemetery. The family will be at 210 Phillips Ave. Fisher Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
