Police are asking for the public's help in locating a man wanted for the rape of a 57-year-old woman Monday night.
The rape occurred while the woman was en route home from a shopping trip about 10 p.m. in the 3500 block of Shawn Court.
As she walked behind a row of townhouses across from Rosemont Elementary School, she was approached by a young man who forced her off the sidewalk behind the townhouses.
The suspect was described as a black man, about 19 years old. He is about 5 feet 5 inches tall and has a medium, muscular build.
He has a short Afro and dark complexion. He was last seen wearing faded blue jeans with the right leg pulled up to the knee and a white T-shirt with the word ``Nike'' on the front. He was last seen walking along Rosemont Road toward Lynnhaven Parkway.
