CITY COUNCIL ACTIONS-PORTSMOUTH

The City Council took the following action at its meeting Tuesday: PROPOSAL

Ordinance granting the request by Jay Smallwood and Sharon Dockery to rezone property at 254 Hatton St. from Historic Residential to Historic Limited Office. Approved, 7-0

Resolution granting the request by Lewis White, agent for GTE Mobilnet, for a use permit to install a communication tower at 3000 Tyre Neck Road. Approved, 7-0

Ordinance to appropriate a $223,000 from the Public Utilities Capital Improvement Fund for the purchase and installation of 240 water-sampling stations within the city's water distribution system. The purpose of theses stations is to help ensure the quality of Portsmouth's water. The sample stations will be installed by Public Utility Department crews. Approved, 7-0 by CNB
