MAN FACES CAPITAL MURDER CHARGE IN EX-WIFE'S KILLING

Charges against a man accused of fatally shooting his ex-wife and her boyfriend last week were changed to capital murder Thursday. The upgraded charges make Dana T. Driscoll eligible for the death penalty, should he be convicted.

Police said Driscoll entered his ex-wife's house on Sept. 20 after shooting Walter D. Cartwright Jr., 49, with a shotgun. Cartwright was visiting Susan Driscoll in her home in the 1100 block of Riviera Dr.

The gunman then tied up Susan Driscoll in a bedroom and began a standoff with police. Hours later, police said Dana Driscoll shot his ex-wife and then surrendered to authorities. Driscoll is scheduled for a bond hearing today. ILLUSTRATION: Photo
