John Joseph Glynn III, 77, of the 5600 block of Caris-brooke Lane died Sept. 27, 1996.
A native of Portsmouth, Mr. Glynn was retired from Electronic Fire Control at Norfolk Naval Shipyard with 31 years of service and was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife, Helen Pittman Glynn; three daughters, Karon Grinnan of Virginia Beach, Anne Ward of Franklin, Helen Sayler of Virginia Beach; a son, Matthew Tim Glynn of Portsmouth; two sisters, Anne James of Gaithersburg, Md., and Charlotte Flynn of Crofton, Md.; a brother, Frank Glynn of Crofton, Md.; 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
A graveside funeral with military honors will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in Olive Branch Cemetery by the Rev. Joseph S. Slowik. The family will receive friends from 5 to 6 p.m. Sunday in Foster Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
