Mary Jane (Carter) Shortridge, 71, died Sept. 26, 1996, in St. Vincent Hospital.
A homemaker, Mrs. Shortridge was a member of North Park Chapter Order of Eastern Star, Indianapolis, and Epsilon Sigma Alpha Sorority, Danville, Ind. She was born and raised in Norfolk.
Survivors include her husband, Wilbur H. Shortridge; daughter, Patricia A. Jones; two brothers, George M. Carter Jr., William B. Carter; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in Flanner-Buchanan Speedway Mortuary. Burial will be in Floral Park West Cemetery, Indianapolis. Viewing will be from 2 to 9 p.m. today in the mortuary. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude's Hospital or Camp Riley.
