BMC Edward F. Chance USN (Ret.), 71, of the 4800 block of Westgrove Road, died Sept. 28, 1996.
A Baltimore native, Mr. Chance retired from the U.S. Navy after 21 years of service. He also retired from civil service after 21 1/2 years with the police department at NOB. He was a member of the Police Association of Virginia and the Fraternal Order of Police, Lodge (NU)28.
Survivors include stepdaughters, Pam Salmon of Greensboro, N.C., and Debbie Nash of Elizabeth City, N.C.; a son, Richard T. Chance of Midlothian, Va.; two grandchildren, Rick Chance and Michelle Chance; and a companion, Bernice Hodgin.
A graveside funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Forest Lawn Cemetery by Father Edward L. Richardson. Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Bayside Chapel, is in charge. Military honors will be accorded at the grave.
