Ethel Owens Phillips, 90, of the 400 block of E. Queen St. died Sept. 29, 1996, in Chowan Hospital.
A native of Tyrrell County, Mrs. Phillips was the wife of the late Kistler M. Phillips. She was retired from the Edenton Cotton Mill.
Survivors include two sons, John M. Phillips of Edenton, Terry and wife, Jean Spruill Phillips of Edenton; three grandchildren, Amy P., and husband Louis Nixon Jr., Brian Phillips and his wife, Tracy, and Eric Phillips and his wife, Celeste, all of Edenton; three great-grandchildren, Nichole and Haley Nixon and Patrick Phillips, all of Edenton, N.C.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Beaver Hill Cemetery, Edenton, by Dr. Kenneth Word, pastor of Edenton Baptist Church. The family will receive friends in the residence. Evans Funeral Home, Edenton, is in charge.
