Kudos to April Reyes, Cheneil Goodman and the rest of the crew of ``Pizza Ria!" in Norfolk's Roberts Village (Sept. 20 Metro-News, ``Teens deliver on promise of pizza to public housing''). Their entrepreneurial spirit and can-do attitude is an inspiration to anyone who ever felt victimized, treated unfairly or simply anyone who dreams of making a difference.
I am encouraged by their solution-mindedness. Rather than complain that they don't enjoy name-delivered food service (which seems like a very basic right to most of us - one which doesn't ever need protecting), they accept local business decisions and find a way to work within that framework. It goes to show what a good dose of courage and Yankee Ingenuity can amount to (first-year profits of $2,300)!
Cheneil Goodman says, ``I'm happy we did make it. . . . We plan to go on to bigger and better things.'' I have no doubt that ``bigger and better'' are on April's and Cheneil's horizons.
