A 31-year-old man was found shot to death outside a Deep Creek Boulevard home Tuesday afternoon, and police are looking for a suspect seen driving away.

Police said the shooting happened around 4 p.m. outside a house not far from Lincoln Park. Investigators said Fred D. Boone, who lived on nearby Des Moines Avenue, was shot in the upper body and died at the scene.

Detectives said they don't know why Boone was shot. Police spokeswoman Amber Whittaker said witnesses saw a black man with a goatee and wearing a checkered shirt leaving the murder scene in an old brown or burgundy station wagon. The car may have been an AMC make and either a Gremlin or Rambler.

Anyone with information about the crime is asked to call 488-7777.
