Lydia Commander Killmon, 98, of the 3200 block of Vimy Ridge Ave. died Sept. 30, 1996, in a Norfolk nursing home.
Born in Knotts Island, N.C., she was the widow of Adolphus Weldon ``Dolly'' Killmon. She was a member of Temple Baptist Church, Virginia Chapter (NU)22, Order of the Eastern Star and Tidewater Senior Citizens Club. She held Bible study in her home for 36 years.
Survivors include her stepson, John ``Jack'' W. Killmon of Norfolk; a granddaughter, Kelly Gray of Virginia Beach; two grandsons, Michael K. Crockett of Virginia Beach, Leslie L. Crockett of Virginia Beach; and a great-grandchild, H. Hunter Beaton III of Virginia Beach. She was predeceased by a daughter, Garnett C. Crockett.
A funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday in Smith and Williams Funeral Home, Norfolk Chapel. The family will receive friends in the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
