JOHNNY JOHNSON

``Johnny'' Johnson, 66, of the 100 block of Sandridge Court, died Sept. 29, 1996.

Mr. Johnson was a member of the Boys Scouts of America, the Knights of Columbus, the Good Sams Club, the Tar Heel Squares, and was a docent at the Norfolk Zoo. He attended Holy Family Catholic Church in Elizabeth City, N.C., and was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Virginia Beach.

Mr. Johnson is survived by his wife, Mary Elizabeth Sweeney Johnson of South Mills; his four sons, Thom Johnson and his wife, Ronda of Hermitage, Ore., Jerry Johnson and his wife, Beatrice of Virginia Beach, Ken Johnson of Jekyll Island, Ga., Michael Johnson and his wife, Teresa of Portland, Ore.; his two daughters, Kathleen Johnson Skogstad and her husband, Britt of Chesapeake, and Laura Johnson Levine and her husband, Robert of Virginia Beach. He is also survived by his sister, Betty Johnson Buhrmann and her husband, Dean of Derry, N.H.; his brother, Billy Gene Johnson and his wife, Derell of Copperas Cove, Texas; and 15 grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at Holy Spirit Catholic Church on Thursday from 5:30 to 7 p.m. and a Mass of Resurrection will be conducted at 7:30 p.m. by Father Tom Caroluzza. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the Virginia Zoological Association. Kellum Funeral Home, Bonney Road Chapel, is handling arrangements.
