Science and Technology Corp. of Hampton was fined $100,000 in Norfolk federal district court Monday for improperly providing photocopiers to two federal officials. STC pleaded guilty in July to violating a law that prohibits giving gratuities to government officials. An agreement between STC and prosecutors called for a $100,000 fine. Federal District Judge Raymond Jackson accepted the plea, and placed the company on one year's probation. STC officials conceded that giving the copiers to the government officials was wrong, but denied they did so to influence the awarding of government contracts.
