Fannie Lowe Hughson, 96, of the 600 block of McGlohon St., died Oct. 1, 1996, in Down East Health and Rehabilitation Center, Gatesville.
Mrs. Hughson was a Hertford County native and the widow of John Thomas Hughson. A homemaker, she was a member of Hickory Chapel Free Will Baptist Church, Ahoskie, Tidal Wave Chapter (NU)9, Order of Eastern Star, Portsmouth, and the Rebecca Lodge, Portsmouth.
Survivors include a daughter, Francis B. Whitfield, and husband, Hutson B. Jr.; great-grandchildren, Pamela Schaible of Manassas, Va., and Christa Constantino of Cape Coral, Fla.; three great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a grandson, H. Bryant Whitfield III.
A funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday in Garrett Funeral Home, Ahoskie, by the Rev. Robert May. Entombment will be in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens, Suffolk, at 3:30 p.m. Friday. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 8 p.m. today and will assemble at the funeral home at noon Friday prior to services. Memorial donations may be made to Hickory Chapel Free Will Baptist Church, Rt. 4, Box. 387, Ahoskie, N.C. 27910.
