MARY BARNES

Mary Barnes, of the 2500 block of Tidewater Drive, died Sept. 30, 1996, in a local hospital.

Born in Tarboro, N.C., she was the widow of Granville Barnes. She was a domestic and a member of Antioch Missionary Baptist Church, Norfolk.

Survivors include three daughters, Hattie Pearl Buie of Norfolk, Geneva Perry of Rocky Mount, N.C., Thelma Buie of Norfolk; five sons, James, Thomas, Johnnie, Wilbert Ray, Marshall (Sam) Jones, all of Norfolk; a brother, Willie Andrews of Greensboro, N.C.; 43 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.

A funeral will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in Antioch Missionary Baptist Church, 525 Dinwiddie St., Norfolk, by Dr. I. Joseph Williams. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Family and friends will assemble at 2519 Tidewater Drive, Norfolk, at 1 p.m. Saturday for the procession to the church. Metropolitan Funeral Service is in charge. ILLUSTRATION: Photo
