Mark A. Benthall, 23, of 14 Barney Place, died Oct. 2, 1996, in Portsmouth General Hospital.
Born in Norfolk, he attend Mount Sinai R.Z.U.A. Church, Portsmouth. He was employed at the Norfolk Naval Commissary for a year.
Survivors include a daughter, T'Shara Lamb of Portsmouth; mother, Linda Whitfield of Portsmouth; father, Nelson Dixon of Chesapeake; a sister, Jeanette Elliott of Portsmouth; a brother, Willie Whitfield of Portsmouth; maternal grandmother, Ruth Benthall of Portsmouth; paternal grandmother, Alice Heckstall of Chesapeake; aunt, Evelyn Southall; uncle, Raleigh Benthall Jr.; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, in-laws and friends.
A funeral will be conducted at noon Saturday in Mount Sinai R.Z.U.A. Church, 2716 Moton St., Portsmouth, by Pastor David Johnson. Burial will be in Lincoln Memorial Cemetery, Portsmouth. Viewing will begin at noon today in Corprew Funeral Home. The family will be at 3513 Willow Breeze Drive, Portsmouth, and will assemble there for the funeral service.
