Lucy Mildred Stallings, 69, of River Ridge died Oct. 4, 1996, in Community Memorial Healthcenter.
Mrs. Stallings was a retired employee of the Navy Exchange, Portsmouth. She had been a volunteer at the Portsmouth Naval Hospital, as well as Community Memorial Health Center in South Hill. She was a member of the Baptist W.M.U. and Pine Crest Baptist Church, Portsmouth.
Survivors include her husband, Edward W. Stallings; a son, Charles A. Evans of Groton, Conn.; six sisters, Estelle Woolard and Elizabeth Chauncey, both of Washington, N.C., Faye Slone of Hudson, Fla., Gertrude Linn of Yorktown, Louise Salmonds of Arizona and Bessie Ward of Bracey; two brothers, Haywood Jones of Anchorage, Alaska, and Earl Jones of Orlando, Fla.; and three granddaughters.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday in Pine Crest Baptist Church, Portsmouth, with burial in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Portsmouth. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Sunday in Crowder-Hite-Crews Funeral Home, South Hill. Memorial contributions may be made to Pine Crest Baptist Church.
