Mildred Cross Smith, 66, of the 4000 block of Oakhurst Road died Oct. 3, 1996, in a local hospital.
A native of Holland, Va., Mrs. Smith was a member of Central Baptist Church and the widow of Daniel M. Smith.
Survivors include her daughter, Pamela R. Esparza of Portsmouth; a son, David S. Smith of Portsmouth; a brother, Charles T. Cross of Portsmouth; grandchildren, Michael L. Hand and Kelsee Esparza, both of Portsmouth.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday in Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, by Dr. U.G. Robertson. Burial will be in Holland Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Sunday and at other times at 4028 Oakhurst Road, Portsmouth.
