HOWARD A. BROWN

Howard Alfred Brown, 63, of Magnolia Drive died Oct. 3, 1996, in Maryview Hospital.

A native of West Virginia, Mr. Brown was predeceased by his father, Lovelace Brown, and his mother, Mary Sylvia Johnson Brown. He was a member of Twenty-Thirty Retiree Club, Suffolk, and the Pleasant Union Baptist Church, Suffolk. He retired from the U.S. Air Force after 20 years of service and worked in the Naval Supply Center as a general foreman.

Survivors include his wife, Helen Brown; daughters, Miss Shirley Gore of Smyrna, Ga., Mrs. Marie Stanford of Centerville, Va., Mrs. Thomasine G. Thompson of Raleigh, N.C., Miss Tara Gore of Portsmouth, Mrs. Patricia Richardson, Mrs. Julie Skinner and Miss Monica Gore, all of Suffolk; sons, Edward Gore of Suffolk and Wallace Gore of Capron, Va.; mother-in-law, Mrs. Annie M. Jones of Suffolk; four sons-in-law; four sisters-in-law and a daughter-in-law; a brother, Jerone Smith of Portsmouth; three brothers-in-law; five cousins; and 15 grandchildren.

A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday in Pleasant Union Baptist Church, Suffolk, by Dr. V.T. Chambers. Burial will be in Carver Memorial Cemetery. Crocker Funeral Home is in charge.
