Concerning the BusinessNews series ``The American Dream: Who killed it?'' (Sept. 22-29) by Philadelphia Inquirer writers Donald Barlett and James Steele:
The authors boldly state that the way to ``regain'' the American Dream is to destroy what allowed America to become great in the first place! Even Marx had a better understanding of the market than these two.
Do they realize that there is zero constitutional authority for the federal government to impose most of the ``improvements'' that they suggest? Do they realize that most of their suggestions are forbidden by the Bill of Rights, the only thing that has kept fascists and socialists from turning the USA into a nightmarish land of poverty and misery?
Do they even realize that the American economy is the envy of Europe, where many of these ``improvements'' have been implemented?
You check your facts before you report on events like fires and train wrecks, don't you? You should have done the same before printing this garbage.
