BEATRICE S. VINSON

Beatrice S. Vinson of the 1200 block of Roosevelt Blvd. died Oct. 5, 1996, in her home.

Mrs. Vinson was born in Southampton County and was a member and faithful stewardess of Emanuel AME Church in Portsmouth. She was a licensed practical nurse.

Survivors include her husband, John S. Vinson Sr.; two daughters, Delores A. Lucas of Forestville, Md., and Norma V. Jones of Portsmouth; a son, John S. Vinson Jr. of Portsmouth; two sisters, Nellie Brodie of New Jersey and Lendora Johnson of Portsmouth; a brother, Millard Philmore Thomas of Portsmouth; 15 grandchildren; a host of great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; a daughter-in-law, Laura A. Vinson; two sons-in-law, Sherwood Earl Lucas and Bernard D. Jones; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and friends.

A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Emanuel AME Church by the Rev. James F. Mason. Burial will be in Lincoln Memorial Cemetery. Viewing will begin at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Corprew Funeral Home. The body will be taken to the church at noon Wednesday.
