After a long illness Jo Anne (Jo) Linkous Brigham departed this earthly life at 10:29 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 5, 1996. She was 59 years of age.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Annette Gilbert Linkous and father, John David Linkous, retired fire chief of Ahoskie, N.C. Colby Archie Brigham, her devoted husband of 40 years, and children moved to Hopkinsville from Fort Gordon, Ga. in 1973 when he was stationed at Fort Campbell.
She was blessed with two children, John Winter Brigham, a telecommunications engineer for Vistakon in Jacksonville, Fla., and Barbara Annette Fowler of Hopkinsville, and a brother, David John Linkous, a contractor in Smithfield, Va.
A devoted Christian bathed in the Holy Spirit, she sat a true example of Christian living, of love through faith. She accepted the members of Vineyard Christian Fellowship as part of her family and lovingly devoted her time and energy to their family spiritual and physical well being.
The family will open their arms to her friends and extended family tonight between 6 and 8 p.m. at Hughart & Beard Funeral Home, 2504 Virginia St., Hopkinsville. Her physical body will be laid to rest Tuesday at 1 p.m. with a graveside service at Green Hill Memorial Gardens.
``Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints.'' Psalm 116: Verse 15. She will be remembered lovingly by family and friends.
