GLADYS G. JORDAN

Gladys Goodwin Jordan, 69, of the 1900 block of Holland Corner Road, died Oct. 5, 1996, in Obici Hospital.

Mrs. Jordan was born in Gates County, N.C., and was a homemaker. She was a member of Holy Neck United Church of Christ and was financial secretary. She was also a member of Whaleyville Chapter (NU)137 Order of Eastern Star and Box Elder Homemakers Club. She was predeceased by her mother, Katie Asbell and father, James W. Goodwin.

Survivors include her husband, Forrest A. Jordan; a daughter, Debbie J. Angstadt and son-in-law Curt of Midlothian, Va.; a son, Ronnie D. Jordan and daughter-in-law Lisa of Suffolk; five sisters, Eva G. Modlin of Sunbury, N.C., Lillian G. Spivey of Hobbsville, N.C., Frances G. Hollowell of Sunbury, Syble G. Abrams of Norfolk and Doris G. Jackson of Virginia Beach; four brothers, James Goodwin of Suffolk, Dr. Lawrence Goodwin of Gresham, Ore., Kay Goodwin of Portsmouth and Floyd Goodwin of Suffolk; and a grandchild, Nicki Jordan.

A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Holy Neck United Church of Christ by the Rev. Cecil Smith and the Rev. Ron Parr. Burial will be in the church cemetery with Eastern Star rites. The family will be at Harrell Funeral Home, Suffolk, from 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday to greet friends and at other times will be at the residence. Memorial donations may be made to Holy Neck UCC Building Fund, c/o Jimmie Copeland, Treasurer, 2480 Box Elder Road, Suffolk, Va. 23437.
