Betty Mathena Austin, 63, died Saturday, Oct. 5, 1996, in Maryview Hospital.
She was a native of Bartley, W.Va., and was a member of Park View United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Beverly B. Austin; two daughters, Vickie A. Doxey of Portsmouth and Peggy A. Davenport of Manteo, N.C.; a brother, Clarence A. Mathena Jr. of Chesapeake; and five grandchildren, Megan, Dawn and Amy Davenport, Nicole and Keith Doxey Jr.
A graveside service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens by the Rev. Daniel G. Spaugh. The family will be at Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, from 7 to 9 p.m. today.
