Edwin Guy Jones, 62, of the 200 block of York Drive died Oct. 7, 1996, in a local hospital.
A native of Baltimore, Md., Mr. Jones was retired from the U.S. Navy-HDC and was a musician. He was a member of the Fleet Reserve Association and a U.S. Navy veteran of the Vietnam War.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Ann Glover Jones; his mother, Irene Smith Jones of Roundhill, Va.; daughters, Debra Lynn Everett of Chesterfield, Va., and Shawna Joy Provost of Chesapeake; sons, William R. Vineyard Jr. of Chesapeake and Randall Carson of Sannabel Isle, Fla.; brother, Albert A. Jones of Roundhill; and seven grandchildren.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday in Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, by the Rev. G.W. Harley. Burial will be in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens with military honors. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday.
