Dr. Christopher C. Barker, 33, died Oct. 7, 1996, in Reno, Nev.
He was born in Milton, Fla., and was a former resident of Atlantic City, N.J. He was a chiropractor in the Georgetown area of Washington, D.C. He was the son of Capt. William W. and Anne Benton Barker of Elizabeth City, N.C., and the husband of Stacey Spitzer Barker of Bethesda.
Besides his parents and wife, Dr. Barker is survived by two sisters, Susan Swearingen and Mary Deppe Barker, both of Raleigh, N.C.; his maternal grandmother, May Borden Benton of Gull Harbor, N.C.; and his mother- and father-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Burton Spitzer of Philadelphia. He was dearly loved by his family, friends and patients.
A memorial service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday in Christ Episcopal Church, Elizabeth City, by the Rev. Renfro Sproul and the Rev. Josh MacKenzie. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the Kentuckiana Children's Clinic, P.O. Box 16039, Louisville, Ky. 40256. Twiford's Memorial Chapel, Elizabeth City, is in charge.
