Grand larceny, 3800 block of Bridge Road, Sept. 30, someone removed a Pepsi vending machine, serial number 10156240, valued at about $1,796. It held about $125 in change.

Breaking and entering, 900 block of Garfield Ave., Sept. 27, someone entered a residence by prying a window screen. A model 7200 Mobil Comm pager valued at $89 and a metal can of change were removed.
Breaking and entering, 500 block of Causey Ave., Sept. 30, a man attempted to break into a residence by removing a window screen. The window was nailed shut, and he was unable to force it open.

Petty larceny, 600 block of Carolina Road, Sept. 27, someone entered a locked vehicle and removed a Nokio model 100 cellular phone.
Lost/stolen, 100 block of Lewis Ave., Sept. 27, a Virginia license plate is missing from a vehicle.
Petty larceny, 100 block of York Court, Sept. 28, someone removed a purple USA Mountain Climber Roadmaster girl's model 10 speed bicycle.
Breaking and entering, 300 block of Bank St., Sept. 28, someone attempted to enter a residence, causing about $40 worth of damage to the door locks.
Armed robbery, Railroad Avenue and Capitol Street, Oct. 2, a taxi driver picked up two men at an assigned stop. The fare pulled out a revolver and advised the driver that he was being robbed. The driver had a .handgun and fired at the robber, striking him in the left side. The second man then fled. Afterward, the driver took the robber to the hospital.
Breaking and entering, 600 block of Carolina Road, Oct. 2, someone entered a store and removed cartons of Newport cigarettes. Suspects entered the case by breaking the glass.
Grand larceny, 100 block of Pinner St., Oct. 2, someone removed a Citibank Master Card from a wallet and a portable Motorola cell phone from the owner while he slept in a chair.

Breaking and entering, 1600 block of Cypress Chapel Road, Oct. 2, someone cut the screen on a back door, unfastened the lock and entered a residence. A lock was broken off a freezer, and four steaks were removed. by CNB
