Earl LeGrant Williams Jr., 64, of the 6300 block of Avon Road, died Oct. 9, 1996, in DePaul Hospital.
A native of Clayton, N.C., Mr. Williams was a retired mail carrier and a civil service employee. He was a member of Jerusalem Baptist Church, Norfolk, and was deacon emeritus. He was the former chairman of Deacon Board, former member of Arabia Temple (NU)12. He was a member of Alpha Phi Alpha fraternity, 33rd Degree Mason and veteran of the Korean War.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Serella H. Williams; a daughter, Mrs. Wynta Williams-Foster of Cleveland, Ohio; a son, LeGrant H. Williams of Newport News; three grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
A funeral service will be conducted at 12:30 p.m. Saturday in Jerusalem Baptist Church by the Rev. Thomas M. Venable. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park, Chesapeake. T.E. Cooke-Twilight Funeral Home is in charge. A memorial service will be in the church today from 7 to 8 p.m. Family and friends will assemble at the residence Saturday at 11:30 a.m. for the procession to the church. ILLUSTRATION: Photo
