The American people have recently been subjected to a media blitz concerning entitlements. It seems that Social Security is going broke, Medicare is in the red and Medicaid is on the rocks.
Why weren't we afforded such intensive coverage of the savings-and-loan disaster? Years went by during the 1980s while the S&L thieves slurped away at the trough; and now the American people are saddled with a nearly $6 trillion debt.
With this in mind, how can we be expected to believe anything politicians or the news media tell us about any issue, including entitlements?
