MARY T. FENTRESS

Mary Jo Tavenner Fentress, 73, of the 100 block of Stadium Drive, died Oct. 11, 1996.

Born in South Norfolk, Mrs. Fentress was a teacher of Chesapeake City Schools for 31 years, retiring in 1978. She was a member of Great Bridge United Methodist Church, Chesapeake, participating in the Friendship Circle. She was also a member of Chesapeake General Hospital Auxiliary and Friends of Great Bridge Library.

Survivors include her husband, Clyde G. Fentress Sr.; a daughter, Claudia M. Fentress of Hollywood, Calif; two sons, Clyde G. Fentress Jr. and his wife, Tesa Fentress of Tampa, Fla., Keith T. Fentress and his wife, Annette Fentress of Laurel, Md.; a brother, Dr. Michael C. Tavenner of Evansville, Ind.; two grandparents, Lenny Fentress and Kevin Fentress, both of Tampa.

A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday in Riverside Memorial Park, Norfolk, by the Rev. Robert Hastings. The family will be at Francis A. Gay Funeral Home, South Norfolk Chapel, from 7 to 8 p.m. Sunday.
