Jessie Mae Stith, of the 27000 block of Old Church Road, departed this life on Wednesday Oct. 9, 1996.
A native of Southampton County, she was the daughter of the late Willie and Delia Fox Owes. She was the widow of the late James E. Stith.
Survivors include two sons, Elwood Cephus Stith of Charleston, S.C., Marvin Owes of Drewryville; two daughters, Vera Denise Gary and Lillian T. Claude, both for Drewryville; four sisters, Esmond Lambert and Beatrice Givens of Portsmouth, Eunice Wyche of Capron, Va., Dorothy Barden of Chesapeake; and nine grandchildren.
A funeral will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. today in Mars Hill Baptist Church, Capron, by the Rev. Louis Collins III. Interment will follow in Pleasant Plain Church Cemetery, Drewryville. Pearson-Bond Funeral Service, Emporia, is in charge.
