WALTER B. KINDLEY

Walter B. ``Pete'' Kindley, 78, of the 1100 block of Porter St., died Oct. 12, 1996, in Norfolk General Hospital, Norfolk.

Born in South Norfolk, he was a retired painter for the Norfolk Naval Shipyard, retiring in 1972 after 30 years of service. Mr. Kindley was an Army veteran of World War II.

Survivors include his wife, Helen C. Kindley; two sisters, Edna Robertson of Suffolk and Eller Hunt of Chesapeake.

A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Riverside Memorial Park, Norfolk, by the Rev. Gregory Hensley. The family will be at Francis A. Gay Funeral Home, South Norfolk Chapel, from 7 to 8 p.m. today.
