Peter Seits, 85, a retired painter, died Oct. 12, 1996, in his residence.
Mr. Seits was born in Germany and was a member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church. He was retired from the Painters Union, was a member of Cavite Association of Tidewater and was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Hermina Seits; a daughter, Virginia S. Taylor and husband Hugh of Carrsville, Va.; three sisters, Resi Zimmermann, Agnes Weigand and Amanda Saal, all of Germany; two brothers, August Seits and Anton Seits, both of Germany; many nieces, nephews and cousins and he had Filipino friends that he considered family. He was predeceased by a sister, Katherina Seits, and two brothers, George Seits and Hans Seits.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday by Fr. James M. Noto in St. Nicholas Catholic Church. Burial will be in Princess Anne Memorial Park Mausoleum. A Christian wake service will be at 7 p.m. today in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Lynnhaven Chapel, where the family will remain until 9 p.m. to receive friends. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Nicholas Catholic Church Building Fund, 712 Little Neck Road, Virginia Beach, Va. 23452.
