RICHARD B. THOMPSON

Richard Brian Thompson, 15, of the 8000 block of Foxdale Drive, died Oct. 11, 1996, in his residence.

He was a sophomore at Norview High School and was born in Fairfield, Calif. He was affiliated with the ROTC program, the Governor's School program and the Goldwing Road Riders Association-Hampton Chapter. He was a member of Oak Park Baptist Church in New Orleans.

Survivors include his mother, Mae Cappis of Norfolk; his father, Richard Edward Thompson II of LaMoure, N.D.; and his younger brother, Russell Scott Thompson of Norfolk.

A memorial service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Chapel in the Woods, Naval Air Station, inside Gate 4, by Chaplain Clarke Prescott. Burial at sea will precede the memorial service. Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel, is handling arrangements. The family suggests memorial donations be made to the Russell Scott Thompson Education Fund, c/o USAA Federal Service Bank, 10750 McDermott Freeway, San Antonio, Texas 78288.
