Helen Ruth Newharth Schaefer, of Lynn Shores Manor, went home to be with the Lord on Oct. 13, 1996, after an extended illness.
She was born on Sept. 23, 1911, in Washburn, Wis.
Survivors include her loving daughter, Barbara J. Olson, and son-in-law, Cmdr. Richard S. (Ole) Olson Sr., U.S. Navy (ret.); three grandchildren, Carrie Olson Midgette and her husband, Donald, Richard S. Olson Jr., Dale C. Olson and his wife, Wanda; four great-grandchildren, Donald Jr. and Brenda Midgette, Michael Olson and Christopher Olson.
Arrangements are pending at Kellum Funeral Home, Bonney Road Chapel. The family will hold a memorial service at a later date. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the Crippled Children's Hospital, Khedive Shrine Temple, Legion of Honor.
